Sexette
starring Mae West
I watched the movie "Sexette" in several doses recently. It starred
Mae West as a parallel universe version of herself called "Marlo"
something. In this 1979 movie Mae West is about 89 years old.
Between the strata of makeup formations on her face and the Vaseline
glaze slathered on the lens.... she still looks 89 years old.
Did I mention it was a musical? It is.
The "stars" that showed up to participate in this necrophiliac
adventure are numerous. Among the poor souls drooling over Mae
in this film (Everyone in the movie worships Mae as the Ultimate
Sex Goddess!) are Regis Philbin as a reporter. Rona Barrett as
herself.
Among the other superstars; Tony Curtis as a high level russian
diplomat and Ex-Mae-Husband. George Hamilton as a mobster and
Ex-Mae-Husband.
Among the Rock Musicians whose deal with the Devil had evidently
come due in '79 are Ringo Starr as a film director and Ex-Mae-Husband,
the Who's Keith Moon as a Koo-koo fashion designer and Alice Cooper
as a Leo-Sayer-Afro wearing, Glass Piano playing Bell Hop.
The main stars of the movie (other than Miss West) are Dom DeLouise
as some kind of CIA/Hollywood Schmoozer and Timothy (Bond) Dalton
as the enrapured New Husband #6 who can't wait to lay Mae. West
and Dalton's duet of Cap'n and Tennile's famous hit "Love will
keep us Together" is one of the main "dentist drill on the blackboard"
moments. That and Dom DeLouise's version of the Beatles' "Honey
Pie." Although, upon further inspection of my repressed memories
there are many such moments. So many. So, so many.
The plot involves a UN style summit of some kind that Mae West
has to... never mind. Check it out. Four Stars.
